Sometimes I just want to give up

I know it’s been a while. I’m really rubbish at this whole blogging thing but I feel like I’m at a point again where only blogging seems to make sense…
I’ve actually been planning this blog for a few weeks and it’s very funny to see the ups and downs I go through on such a regular basis in normal and business life.
I seemed to find myself in a bit of a funk. You know those times in your life where it just seems to be one thing after another going wrong? Just when you think things can’t get any worse they do.
I’ve always been a firm believer that God has a plan for everyone and everything you go through in your life is for a reason, so you should try not to question things too much. However, that didn’t stop me from getting to a point where I constantly questioned EVERYTHING.
It’s been everything from family issues to small things like having the time to clean my flat (those of you who know me know just how extreme my OCD can be…) and knowing where my business life is headed. There are times in your life you just feel alone. Don’t get me wrong, I have some awesome friends and family that are there for me but at the same time I’ve come to learn that some of the people that are meant to be there for you just aren’t, at least not the way you need them to be. Sadly, no matter how much you want it to happen, it can’t and that can be very lonely.
Saying that though, last week was A-level results day and oh lord did that bring back some memories. Three years ago I opened some of the worst results imaginable and that set off a really tough time in my life. My weight and health definitely showed that. I was determined to change that though and two years ago I started to. Still can’t believe I was on the front of The Star (worst picture EVER) ‘celebrating’ my unknown success and now I’m expanding my business, Mostly Muffins (www.mostlymuffins.co.uk) and working for two companies that offer something very different. One is large and focuses on customers and meeting targets on a daily/weekly basis and the other is a medium-ish sized business that allows me to basically bake and be creative all day which is amazing!
Tonight I was at a networking event which was great. I got to meet some interesting people, share my story and get some advice. It’s funny how motivated like-minded people can make  you! That however, that’s a blog for another day!
All in all, I’ve realised that although I’ve been in a bit of a funk, I do actually have a lot of things to be grateful for and sometimes it just takes a small reminder to let you know that you’ve come very far and you’ll be okay! I know my blog has been a bit vague (there are some things that aren’t mine to write about) but I’ve seen some people post about their current funks and thought I’d let you know you’re not alone!
I know I’ve said this before but I will try to blog more. I’ve had such a busy summer I actually have things to write about, yay!
