Easy Online Entertainment – My Top Picks

We’re living in a world where it’s getting harder and harder to switch off. With the pandemic, wars, Brexit etc. it’s becoming even harder to avoid certain topics so I thought it would be a good time to share some of the things I’m currently doing online that are fun!

  1. Disney +
I can’t lie, I thought Disney+ would only have kids’ shows and some throwback shows from my childhood but they’re smashing it! From superhero shows to boxsets and movies, there’s so much choice it’s very easy to find yourself scrolling for ages. My latest watches have been Hawkeye, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Loki, Wanda Vision, Modern Family (although they don’t have all the series) and I half-watched Encanto with my niece and sis in law. There’s a clear theme of what I enjoy but I have also seen lots of new additions which look amazing.

2. Plays.Org
I’ve shared on a couple of blogs recently how I’ve gone back to gaming especially online and plays.org is another site I found that has such a great choice. I like the site a lot because of how it’s broke up category wise. You can plan new games, random games, search categories or go into your favourites so it doesn’t matter whether you know what you want to play or have no idea, searching isn’t tedious.

There are games for kids like Counting Fish and Sweet Path which are educational in more ways than one – they work with multiple senses at once which is great for development for the kids and in all honesty, some of them made me very competitive to say they were for kids…

I don’t know about you but I’ve been playing Wordle religiously so anywhere I can find word games that aid in my knowledge, I’m playing them! Wordmeister Letter Tile Game is a great one as the difficulty level is high and it’s easy enough to follow although some of the words I’d question, but that’s just me being super competitive!!

3. YouTube
As I work a lot on social media I’ve stopped using apps such as Tiktok for my own fun so I’ve started to go back to Youtube where some of my fave Tiktok foodies also post content. I love food, I love watching people cook food and when I’m in the mood, I love re-creating some of the recipes. One of my favourites, since I started on Tiktok, was Newt. I love the simplicity of his meals and he’s just funny!

Honestly right now, I’m just trying to keep it as simple as possible. The online world can get overwhelming very quickly so anything that allows me to enjoy my time or shut off is an automatic winner!
