If you’re looking to brush up on your financial skills in a fun and engaging way, MortgageCalculator.org’s “Money Games” page has you covered. In this blog post, I’ll be introducing you to three of our favourite games from the “Money Games” page: “Cashback,” “Hero Elementary Treehouse Trouble,” and “Coffee Shop.”
First up is Cashback, a game that helps you learn about the power of saving money and earning cash-back rewards. In the game, you’ll start with a set amount of money and be challenged to make smart financial decisions that will help you save and earn more. By experimenting with different strategies and learning about the benefits of cashback rewards, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a saving pro.
I did A-level maths and I can’t lie, my mental arithmetic has gone down the drain. I ended up spending ages playing cashback just because it was fun – the timer really takes it up a level because you quickly realise you do care about the score!
Next up is Hero Elementary Treehouse Trouble, a game that teaches kids about money management in a fun and interactive way. In the game, players join the Hero Elementary team as they work to repair and upgrade their treehouse. Along the way, players will need to make decisions about how to budget their money and manage their resources in order to complete each task. With its engaging storyline and kid-friendly gameplay, Hero Elementary Treehouse Trouble is a great way to introduce kids to the basics of money management.
When I play games like this, I think about how realistic these games are in terms of learning and I like that I could teach my niece how to manage money and that one day, she could choose to take on a tree-house project so it’s not like she’d be forced to learn for the sake of it.
Finally, we have Coffee Shop, a game that puts you in the role of a coffee shop owner. In the game, you’ll need to manage your finances and make smart business decisions in order to keep your coffee shop running smoothly. From ordering supplies to setting prices, you’ll need to balance your budget and keep your customers happy in order to succeed. Whether you’re a coffee lover or just looking for a fun business simulation game, Coffee Shop is sure to satisfy you.
This one was my favourite! It took me a little time as I skipped the instructions (living on the edge) but I loved the concept of focusing on the financial aspects as well as the reputation of the coffee shop. One of my dreams is still to have a dessert bar so i liked that this one was super realistic.
In conclusion, MortgageCalculator.org’s “Money Games” page is a great resource for anyone looking to learn about money management and budgeting in a more interactive and enjoyable way. From earning cash-back rewards to running a coffee shop, there’s a game on the “Money Games” page that can help you learn and have fun at the same time. So why not give them a try and see how much you can learn?
